HP Integrity Servers: Solutions to Meet Versatile Business Needs

Hewlett Packard (HP) has been a solid supplier of computing technology in all portions of the consumer market. The Integrity Server series became a part of their product line in 2003, offering Itanium processing architecture functionality. This particular line was inherited from Compaq. HP Integrity servers support both Windows and Linux operating environments.

Earlier models use one of two chipsets: The zx1 set can support up to four central processing units and as many as eight PCI-X busses. The sx1000 set expanded CPU support to sixty-four, and almost two hundred PCI-X busses can be supported. HP advanced to increased capacity chipsets with newer versions in the series. The Integrity line offers entry-level, mid-range, and high-end models.

HP Servers: What Features Do Integrity Series Models Offer

Six prominent entry-level HP servers exist in this grouping. The rx1600 series includes a zx1 chipset and can support two Itanium CPUs. A Fanwood or Deerfield CPU may be used with the server. The 1600 series devices support 8 DIMMs, double hard drives, a dual-channel SCSI controller, and an external SCSI port. The series provides the opportunity for redundant power supplies. Two LAN ports, an RS-232 port, and two USB ports are included. Four operating systems can be supported with additional features, such as a RAID controller being available.
